History of the SHS Order
The Sacred Heart Servants Order has founded boarding schools throughout the mountains of North Mexico in order to host Tarahumara Indian children. They provide them with food and lodging, as well as religious and scholastic education. It is a struggle for them to provide for the children and maintain facilities throughout the school year. The school is entirely dependent on donations, and many times, the children go hungry, teachers go without pay, and the structure goes without needed repairs.
