Respect Life
Respect Life Mission
"The meaning of life is found in giving and receiving love."
The Gospel of Life #81
Rooted in the basic Gospel teaching that "every human life has its origin in the heart of God", the diocesan Respect Life program calls each individual person and parish community to work to nurture and support a respect for the dignity of all persons. No human life should be outside our concern because none is beyond the reach of God's love.
We regard the life of every person from conception to natural death as sacred and work to defend the sanctity of each life. In our attempt to promote and support a culture of life we engage only those words and actions that reflect a positive reverence for every person, even those who may be in opposition to our Catholic teaching. Violence in any form cannot be condoned.
Varied Respect Life Groups may focus their energy on one particular aspect of life, however, all do so in the context of the totality of the Church's mission to uphold the dignity of life at all its stages and in support of that totality.
Major concerns today include:

- Scientific Embryo Research
